Al-Mu'izz li-Din Allah
Abu Tamim Ma'add al-Mu'izz li-Din Allah, fourth Fatimid caliph (953–975) and Isma'ili imam. His general Jawhar restored Fatimid power in the western Maghreb (958–960) and conquered Egypt (969); in 973 al-Mu'izz moved his court from Ifriqiya to the new city of Cairo, which he named al-Qahira al-Mu'izziyya, leaving Ifriqiya to the Zirid Buluggin ibn Ziri.
