Kilij Arslan I
Son of Suleiman ibn Qutalmish and sultan of Rum from 1092. Released from captivity at the Great Seljuk court after Malik-Shah's death, he restored his father's state at Nicaea and destroyed the People's Crusade at Civetot in 1096, but in 1097 lost Nicaea and the battle of Dorylaeum to the First Crusade. In 1107, soon after taking Mosul, he was defeated on the Khabur by the emir Jawali and drowned in the river.
