First Turkic Khaganate
Khaganate of the Ashina Turks, founded when Bumin overthrew the Rouran. Under his son Muqan and his brother Istämi it became the first steppe empire stretching from Manchuria to the Black Sea; by 603 it had split into the Eastern and Western Turkic khaganates.
