al-Mustansir
Abu Tamim Ma'add al-Mustansir bi'llah, eighth Fatimid caliph and Ismaili imam (1036–1094), who came to the throne at seven and reigned longer than any other caliph. His reign saw both the height of Fatimid prestige and the near collapse of the state in the 1060s, after which the vizier Badr al-Jamali held real power. The dispute over his succession split the Ismailis into Musta'lis and Nizaris.
